On the new post page, below the box for text is a utility that allows you to upload files. Click on the Slideshows tab.
This brings up a series of four links to thir-party sites that will change your powerpoint file into a type that can be used for the blog. I used SlideShare, but I would encourage you all to use other sites, so we can see if one of them works better than the others.
Simply follow the instructions that the site gives you. In the case of Slideshare it took something like a minute for it to turn my small powerpoint into a usable file and publish it on their site. I created a SlideShare account, but I could have just used a guest link and skipped that step.
With SlideShare I had to get out of my account and view the uploaded slideshow as a visitor in order to see my link – it only appears on the public version, not the proprietors view, which I found odd. I pasted this link into the “Code” side of the WordPress text box, but it might have worked in the “Visual” side; I dont know.
I hope this helps you guys – it’s really easy and it’ll be a good tool to know how to use.
